Hi marcoc1712, yes, this is the default setting as otherwise the volume would always pop to 100% and I want squeezelite to use the Alsa Mixer to control the volume on hardware level - and if possible vice versa (set squeezelite volume from Alsa Mixer with rotary encoder).
I just saw the possibility of the IR-Interface in squeezelite also setting the player volume. The way the IR-Volume control works and a basic alsa get-volume call (snd_mixer_selem_get_playback_volume) should do the trick... I just don't know how to build this into the squeezelite sources in a quick way (maybe it's already existing).
