I think this is a brilliant idea to use netboot for the player. 
If the required server and settings could be wrapped into a LMS plugin -
sounds like a dream.

Would make adding and managing player much easier - everything in the
LMS settings.

This sounds like a wonderful idea.

You mean LMS on pCP? Might increase the network traffic, unless the
database is stored locally - could still make sense.

Also: an update could create a second player instance and one could
return to the old one if the noew one has problems. Endless
possibilities.

I don't think many changes are necessary - only an image to do netboot.
