I've been meaning to add a second, just have not found the time. pCP is read only, so the file system gets built at boot......this is the core of our system, which means you can just pull the plug and not kill anything. What I do is to write to fstab during the user bootup section. You can edit /opt/bootlocal.sh to do that, just make sure to backup before you reboot. Read up on persistence in the tinycore system.
