I recently changed to 3.10 Audio on my RPi3/Kali/Piano2.1 setup; I have LMS on a Synology NAS. Until 3.10 there were no problems at all with my setup; now it seems to lose packets of music, it is random and I assume it this is what some other users have reported as pops/clicks. It seems to be accepted that this is due to synchronising with other devices - this I do not do - there is only the RPi setup. Just to make sure that it is not due to anything else I will go back to 3.02.
