Yes, short of handling multiple interfaces I think this would be
useful.

If you sync, you want to prefer ethernet, but if the player has a
battery, you might want to move it around from times to times. You can't
bridge a wifi interface in client mode, but you can trunk/bond it.
Active/backup bonding would allow to have multiple interfaces up but
only one active and a single IP address. So you could start/stop wifi,
disconnect/reconnect ethernet almost seamlessly as long as there is
still one interface available.
I have noticed LMS or pCP, at least with players in a group, hangs on to
the IP address he's been using. So multiple interfaces with multiple
addresses don't do much. Restarting squeezelite does not make it switch
active interface: if wifi was active and ethernet is connected, it will
still use wifi (according to tcpdump).
In a bond, interfaces could shuffle and always have the same IP address.
That would be good for streaming, and also to keep contact with the
player's web interface.

-m Makes me happy, because if the network interface changes the LMS
player does not, so I can keep my player options intact. (With
squeezeplay on pCP I use a "Minimum Synchronization Adjustment" of 100
ms, and one of my players needs volume fixed at 100%.)
Using -m 02:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx, I can have a player in a group, change its
network connection, reboot it and when it comes back, it will reconnect
to the group and play just as before.
Without it, the same action leads to a confusing situation where you get
2 players with the same name, one dead but with the correct options, one
alive but with default options (and not in the group). This clears up
when LMS gives up on the unseen player, then you can rebuild the group
and start playing. (And by that time the amp attached to my player had
auto-shut off, leading to even more question as why it would keep
silent...)
