I hope others will find the idea interesting ;) My use-case is a set of players in a public place, my drivers to want this were: a. scrape a few bucks per player, b. remove a cause of failure, c. allow remote "bare metal" players administration, d. save the planet (one less part to source), e. a tiny bit less smoke in case the player somehow catches fire.
