The only drawback would be if you do a lot of typing. This might be
awesome with an on screen keyboard and a TV remote.
As Paul says: there is no need for individual configuration files for
TV/remote combinations. If a TV is CEC capable, it should work with any
CEC capable application on the Raspberry. You might want to fetch a SD
card and install Kodi just to get an idea how smooth the integration
is.
In my (amateur) point of view, to enable jivelite for CEC, the CEC
library libcec (http://libcec.pulse-eight.com) would have to be "docked"
to the software interface where jivelite also gets (and translates) the
commands received by LIRC. But I recognize that my vision might be
somewhat simplified ;)
