Hi Paul

Yes, after my in-situ upgrade it looked like it was working, but just
didn't respond for me at all.  But, lirc was running.  Then, when I've
tried to uninstall/reinstall or do a fresh install on a clean 3.5, lirc
won't start because it can't find or create lircd.pid.
