It's Access Point Mode which basically mean you can control it directly without having to have it on a network (it creates its own). It's the same as one of the features on the Duet. You can use just the server and your phone to complete a wireless player.
In my case I put the RPI (Server) in my car and plug the output to the Aux input of the car. The server broadcasts an SSID and you can connect your phone to it and then use one of the SB emulation programs to control the server. I use Squeeze Commander, which is sadly no longer available.
