Hi MArco,

thanks a lot. I tested with your latest r2 release from March 2017.
However there's the same behaviour with the 768Khz file. It does not
Play. I fully agree for now it's not necesarry as there is simply no
music on the market but for testing purpose interesting that it does not
play.

Moreover I found out something additional and a difference in your and
Ralphs version.

Your's is the only one that can Play DSD512. It lloks like:

Code:
--------------------

  [13:02:55.513698] decode_flush:190 decode flush
  [13:03:03.666478] decode_flush:190 decode flush
  [13:03:03.673622] codec_open:218 codec open: 'd'
  [13:03:03.773260] _read_header:191 id: DSD len: 28 consume: 28
  [13:03:03.773290] _read_header:158 DSF version: 1 format: 0
  [13:03:03.773297] _read_header:168 channels: 2
  [13:03:03.773302] _read_header:169 sample rate: 22579200
  [13:03:03.773306] _read_header:170 lsb first: 1
  [13:03:03.773311] _read_header:171 sample bytes: 42336000
  [13:03:03.773315] _read_header:172 block size: 4096
  [13:03:03.773319] _read_header:191 id: fmt len: 52 consume: 52
  [13:03:03.773324] _read_header:178 found dsd len: 84672524
  [13:03:03.773329] dsd_decode:765 setting track_start
  [13:03:03.773332] dsd_decode:819 DSD512 stream, format: DSD_U32_BE, rate:
705600Hz

--------------------

If i use a self compiled version from Ralphy (v1.9.0-1112) with native
DSD Support (compiled with: OPTS="-DDSD -DRESAMPLE -DVISEXPORT") then
DSD works but only up to DSD256
With the DSD512 i only receive:

Code:
--------------------

  [13:07:32.618685] decode_flush:229 decode flush
  [13:07:32.630875] codec_open:257 codec open: 'd'
  [13:07:32.731875] _read_header:192 id: DSD len: 28 consume: 28
  [13:07:32.732717] _read_header:159 DSF version: 1 format: 0
  [13:07:32.732737] _read_header:169 channels: 2
  [13:07:32.732755] _read_header:170 sample rate: 22579200
  [13:07:32.732768] _read_header:171 lsb first: 1
  [13:07:32.732776] _read_header:172 sample bytes: 42336000
  [13:07:32.732785] _read_header:173 block size: 4096
  [13:07:32.732794] _read_header:192 id: fmt len: 52 consume: 52
  [13:07:32.732804] _read_header:179 found dsd len: 84672524
  [13:07:32.732813] dsd_decode:768 setting track_start
[13:07:32.732822] dsd_decode:812 DSD sample rate too high for device -
converting to PCM
[13:07:32.732831] dsd_decode:817 DSD to PCM output
[13:07:32.752413] alsa_open:530 unable to set hw params: Invalid argument
[13:07:37.754223] alsa_open:530 unable to set hw params: Invalid argument
[13:07:42.755979] alsa_open:530 unable to set hw params: Invalid argument
[13:07:47.757747] alsa_open:530 unable to set hw params: Invalid argument

--------------------

So there must be a difference in your DSD implementation right?

Thanks S
