It seems I'm not alone, but all instructions refer to a Raspian distro,
and here it is a different soup..

You can always install Raspbian on another SD card (or backup the one
you have to an .img file, then re-use) and follow those instructions.
Imagine it's not an OS issue, but rather hardware/firmware. Therefore it
should stick, no matter what OS you install.
