No, it's not normal.

I do occasionally have gapless playback break on very large playlists.
It's been happening far less often than it used to, but I just
experienced it again a week or so back for the first time in months.

It's always accompanied by a loss of sync between what's actually
playing and what's on the display, that is, at some point the display
winds up lagging one track behind what's being played. It's usually
fixable by skipping one track ahead, which usually actually restarts
whatever track is currently playing.

I've seen this occasional behavior for years and have no idea what
causes it, though it seems to be tied to having a lot of tracks in the
queue. I last saw it on a Pi running Dynamic Playlists + Custom Skip
that usually has 250 items on the playlist. But I've also experienced it
on a Touch where I had manually added multiple albums.
