Hi I use max2play for the LMS part of my network and it has always worked well . I have always struggled to picoreplayer to work as my LMS my issue I find it hard to get my USB HD mounted so that LMS can find the music files . I know that this is just my issue and it could be easily solved so please this is not any slight on your software just me being a technical idiot.
SoMax2play issued a Beta download for Pi 4 which I used as soon as it was available and have been running it ever since . The LMS runs really well and happy , but I found issues with using max2play as the player software. Player would be found and work initially then they would dissapear as a player from LMS . Tried a few clean installs but the same issue kept happening . This was both for a JustBoom Digi on an Rpi3 + and an Rpi 4 2GB with HiFiberry Digi Pro . In the end as i just wanted to listen to music decided to instead load picoreplayer 5.1 for the JustBoom and 6.0 Beta for the Pi4 . Both loaded easily using balena etcher (thanks Ronnie for this tip much easier) and then it was just the case of setup the usual changing names for easy identification , choosing the Digi cards etc . Just to let you know in both cases this worked perfectly and both units are instantly listed by LMS and play without a hitch . Sound is also very stable and solid which is better now I am using RPi 4GB as the LMS server contros for all things are much smoother and quicker at in my view the same levels as very expensive stand alone streamers for a fraction of the money . So I think this is how I will continue going forward Max2play for LMS and picore for the players . Thank you for your work and effort to make this software available and to keep it working .
