With internet streams - the data is one continuous "track" so small adjustments sync has to be made all the time until it fails. With albums, audio is sent as a series of "track" each usually quite short (unless something like classical). At the start of each track - sync is "reset" and only has to last a few minutes.
Have you tried changing which speaker is "master". This can help if the problem is really LMS sync mechanism.
