It’s buried in the thread somewhere.   Basically it is to allow more
than one speakers to connect.  When you reboot pCP, you should cycle
power on your speaker.  PCP sets the speakers to trusted,   So once
paired, if the speaker tries to connect, it will be allowed.  I have a
couple of cheap Chinese earbuds that take almost 60sec to try to
connect.  But then the don’t connect to themselves every time either.  
There is a connect button. On the interface.

You can also use alsa equal with Bluetooth devices now.
