Can't answer your other questions, but if you open piCorePlayer in a web
browser, at the very top left there's a tiny "Help" button, click that,
then the "How to" tab, then the "Manually upgrade LMS" link.

You'll see this:



1.Access piCorePlayer via ssh—see How-to access piCoreplayer via ssh.


2.$ cd /tmp


3.$ wget
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/piCorePlayer/lms-update-script/Master/lms-update.sh


4.$ chmod 755 lms-update.sh


5.$ sudo ./lms-update.sh --mm 7.9.2 -s -r -u

Change 7.9.2 to 8.0.0 in step 5.
