After typing in the right extension it still did not work for me. I then looked at the diagnostics in the pi and checked I'd followed the instructions correctly from github I eventually discovered that this was incorrect
/mnt/mmcblk0p1/tce/hp4-init it was /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/hp4-init I then spent the next 10 minutes trying to find out why any changes to bootlocal.sh reverted back to the original entry on reboot. It's all related to the filetool.lst file and mydata.tgz After making the change to bootlocal.sh I ran filetool.sh -b before rebooting. After reboot the screen worked.
