Arecord reads the input device, and sends the data to sox in raw pcm.
sox is encoding the flac scream

ENCODING=signed-integer
CHLS=2
outformat="--type flac --compression 4"
BITS can be 16/24/32
RATE can be any of the normally supported rates.
