Sorry about that, I had been testing 2 different albums and didn't
realize one of them was aac :-(
I just ran Air - You Make it Easy mp3 (link in previous post) on
squeezelite-1.9.7-1271-win64, it stopped at 2'54 like before
Log: https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/Xm5hHZVTKg/

Second try, Air - You Make it Easy mp3, no volume gain, CPU at 12%
(???), stopped at 3'04
Log: https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/RjHRf4zBDf/

Third try, CPU was at 0.2%, I stopped before the end.

For convenience I had tried the smaller buffer sizes on SLX.

I just tried squeezelite-1.9.7-1271-win64 with different buffer sizes:
-b 64:1024, won't start
-b 128:2048, won't start
-b 256:4096, starts, stops at 3'03 Log:
https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/R9ssfyWqdC/
-b 2000:3000,starts, stops at 2'52
