The issue is that my rescans take a couple of hours, which is a pain for
a transient situation.

But in general I think that the ability to back up (and restore) PCP (&
LMS) at an app-level (vs dumping the sd-card image) e.g. the LMS library
scan/artwork dbs, prefs, plugins and PCP config, to another folder would
be very handy for several situations. CoreElec (Kodi) has this feature
and it's been very useful.
