I checked this on a player where I hadn't done any experiments (so just
a plain out of the box installation of PcP 6.1.0) and that doesn't work.
I named the player (under the tweaks tab) but it doesn't resolve.
I also must admit I have no clue what I'm doing here, I have fairly
limited knowledge of TCP/IP networking, but I did try this:
Code:
--------------------
[tc@Guestroom:~$] sudo /sbin/udhcpc -F guestroom
udhcpc: SIOCGIFINDEX: No such device
--------------------
The problem seems to be the same with all PcP players I have installed.
And my router seems to be doing this okay with other Pi's, so I don't
think there's an issue there. And the one thing I found though is that
once I enable Airplay on the PcP my router does suddenly acknowledge and
resolve the name..
