Apple's Safari used to support browsing for web pages advertised in this manner. But it was never in the iOS version of Safari, only under macOS, and for some reason they just arbitrarily withdrew the feature. Very annoying.
And I believe in some really early version of LMS (then probably still slimserver or even SliMP3.pl!) we did provide mDNS announcements.
