Thx, although who knows what this year is to bring, on the one hand we have another vaccine approved and ready here in the UK but on the other a new strain needing higher levels of lock down.
I have a remote mounted DSI touchscreen for my Prusa printer and purchased some long DSI cables for it. I was half expecting problems given cable lengths but it seems very stable on lengths up to 2m at least. I chose to print the bezel on the flat print bed and spray paint as you guessed but for my hifi unit its printed in Black with no finishing. Your mate might also have the textured build plate and that offers quite a nice finish to anything printed on the first few layers. If you go to the waveshare website you should find the dimensional drawings for the screen.
