It is working. Jivelite running and controlled by the TV remote via HDMI CEC - without having to write any new code or edit any config files ... just install standard software (once the kernel has been configured)
I was right about key mapping being needed. But even with just left/right/up/down it is usable. Video attached. I suspect that adding extra mappings to Jivelite for these system defined keys might be a better approach than building a special mapping file on the computer but either way should be possible.
