I don't think it would be dependant on setup.

I have been working on ALSA setup, and just happen to have some notes
(that I posted for you). I don't think this is the direction we will be
heading in the future, so no testing on multiple pCP.
Check .asoundrc is in the root directory. If you forgot to backup it
will disappear after a reboot. If /opt/.filetool.lst is not right, it
will not be backed up.
