If mmap=1 doesn't work then you need to change it to mmap=0.

With the original pCP mmap=1 only worked in some circumstances, so the
default was mmap=0. Then for many years, mmap=1 worked for everything,
so it was set as the default.

Then we noticed with recent kernels, mmap=1 doesn't always work in all
circumstances. So for sound cards Headphones and b1 configuration files,
we set mmap=0.
