For what it's worth, I run pCP directly from the SSD.


1) Download RPI Imager, and then burn the RPI4 recovery image for USB
booting to a Micro SD card
2) Boot the RPI with the MicroSD Card.  Wait for the flash process to
completed. 
3) Power down and remove the microSD card.
4) Using a USB-A USB-A cable, burn a pCP image to the SSD.    (From
Windows or Unix System)
5) Assemble the Argon case and connect the little 'U' shaped USB
connector.
6) Boot the system, expand the pCP file system.

Done.
