Ronnie Good point, I'm beginning to think the same thing It is a generic 2.5" drive, powered from the usb. Just had it lying around Would I be better with a memory stick or quality self powered hard drive Only have 75GB of media at this time, so 128GB stick would do easily Again, many thanks. I feel I have put you to a lot of trouble, simulating my setup For years I have had SBT with synology NAS, fine until automatic update of synology software stopped LMS. Impossible to go back to previous synology settings Best wishes David
