The hard drive suddenly ceased to be recognised intermittently The good news, a 128GB memory stick arrived and has been perfect, so perfect I am reluctant to experiment with pcp. I will do that with the spare pi as an extra player, when time allows. I think one has to conclude the problem was a mixture of underpower, driving pi, screen, digi+ board and hard drive, despite genuine rasp power wart, combined with a suspect hard drive. All has been stable now for three or four days. Once more many thanks gentlemen, much appreciated David
