I have been using Squeezelite on pCP 7 and 8.2 with HDMI audio out. However, for a system that I built recently I went back to pCP 8.1 (or maybe 8.0) so that the TV remote could be used to navigate the menus (using HDMI CEC) - search my posts all about it.
