Terry,

I have the exact same problem. I have a Powerforce G3/500 and its stops right after
the chime. I've tried different speed/bus settings. I had the card installed when I
tried to use Xpostfacto to install OSX but it kept stalling after the chime. I removed
all my PCI cards and that didn't work. I then re-install the original processor and I
was then able to install OSX. However, I can't reboot into OSX but it's ok going into
9.1. I too would like to know if there's fix or a work around for this problem.

If you do find out how to boot into OSX, please let me know and I'll do the same.
