Perhaps static electricity finally did the card in?

It must be that particular card because I managed to
get X running on a 8600 with 256MB's of interleaved
ram. The chip is a Newertech 500 on a carrier MPe
board running 547MHz with bus speed 55MHz. The Xlr8 X
cache software is running the cache. The cache is set
with speculative off, writethrough off, power
management on. That chip has been running at
547-563MHz for the last 2 years 24/7 across 2
machines.

We installed a Powerlogix board is a friend's comp, it
would randomly crash and we were never able to figure
out exactly why. We replaced it with a OEM type chip
and its been running perfectly for the last couple
years.
