On the one hand Apple says Printers don't work in OSX because there is no support for serial ports in OSX...However the serial ports do work with a modem! Also the new Apple server is going to have a serial port for some UNIX use. So this proves to me Apple could (or maybe someone else) provide use with serial port support if they were willing to....
