No, you can only boot from built-in firewire. Try removing everything but the essentials (CD-ROM,RAM,HD,Processor) for the first install. Use a fresh, untouched OS X disc if you have one. If this configuration doesn't work, try different drive configurations if you have any extra parts (HDs/CD Drives). For each failed attempt, erase the destination disk and start anew. If it's locking up this early, and not even letting you into the installer, then some piece of HW is most likely incapable of supporting the install. Try to find out which one, and read Ryan's instructions carefully. -Charles -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
