Hi again,
Well, I had no problems with my 9600 - I installed on the 4GB,
which is the only drive currently in that machine. I would suggest
disconneting everything from the machine except say the 18GB drive, which
will give the best performance. SCSI termination may be the key. You can
connect everything back up when the install is complete.
My 7300 had to have the 18GB Segate cheetah drive on a separate bus
to the CDROM to install successfully - your experience may be different.
