One thing you (as a Voodoo fan base) are missing is that perhaps the only reason why it had any support in the video subsystem in 10.1.xxx was the miracle of it being legacy 'technology'. From what I was told Voodoo was 'recognized' but not accelerated in 10.1.xxx. That's a big difference in my book. The fact is Apple has always been good at supporting then dumping technology.
They (Apple) wanting to remove the support for Voodoo and other legacy based technologies out of the subsystem could simply be (in their opinion) throwing out the trash. Let them throw! <sarcasm> Bloating an OS simply to satisfy 100% of the people is so unlike Apple. I really really want Iomega support on my 7500!! I really do! </sarcasm> Considering when 'Voodoo technology' was the development of the original OSX (and that four letter word) maybe that was the 'now' technology. I myself had to upgrade to a Radeon 7000 series PCI and I am still in the dark ages compared to what's currently out there. Especially now that the flag of QE has been waved and I just never catch up. *cries* Leave me now, I am going to sulk. As I just mentioned - it's mostl likely the new graphics system in Jag-wire that broke it, they have almost totally re-compiled and substantially re-written the graphics system to give users better speed and accomodate Quartz Extreme for AGP cards. This is most likely the same symptoms that saw a cease of support for 604 CPUs, it was removed for optimization reasons. -- -- Mark Benson Any spelling errors are attributed to PEBKAC Vintage Macs List Nanny SilValleyPirate - AIM silicon_valley_pirate_uk - Yahoo!
