I think you can add fonts to the OSX "system " or to the application itself should it support it. I have an article in a magazine about resolving font issues OSX, especiallyt with the defalut ones. If you don't have any joy in sorting it out get back to me and I'll dig it out and either scan it or transcribe the basics of it for you.
