Hi Listers! I have been grooming a PM7600 for this foray into XPF. Yesterday I finally had something that might work...I read up on the docs via the XPF website and dove in today.
I got 10.1 disk (A developer disk I think as there is no big blue X on it) to boot on my 7600 and got through the boot, selections, and the read me. I choose the 2gb volume to install to and click the installer. I immediately get an installer error and all stops. If I click anywhere The menu bar and installer go away leaving me with a moveable pointer, and an Aqua blue screen. A control alt delete and a PRAM zap later and I am back in 9.1. I have tried a reboot and a re-initialization of the Seagate drive with 9.1's drive setup. Specs are thus: 604 at 225(?) MHz (memory is fuzzy) 288 megs of RAM in many 32s and a couple of 16s. 2 GB Seagate for X (ID 4) 1 Gig IBM (ID 0) for 9.x Apple branded CD ROM drive I pulled all the PCI cards out and made sure that the date and time were set properly. I am using XPF 2.2b7 at this time. <sigh>The docs mostly deal with boot problems. I can boot but not install. Can anyone help me as I really wanna try this!
