I have a lite-on 48-12-48 CDRW (LTR-48125W ). (A Cendyne labelled one) Apple System profiler shows it as fully supported for CD burning. It DOES work, for smaller CD's at least so far (I've burned a 2-300 mb cd in it, burned a 30 and a 56 mb cd this morning; it's nice and fast.)
But I've got a 500 mb folder of digicam stills that I want to back up. EVery time I try to burn it, the spinning beachball comes up and that's all she wrote (literally!) Nothing is ever being burned to the drive, and the Burn CD dialog (which normally comes up immediately) never appears. Other people have mentioned that they've used this drive, and this mechanism is listed as compatible at the iTunmes web site, it's the same mechanism as: LaCie 48x12x48x FireWire LITE-ON LTR-48125W VS01 Except the firmware rev is VS04...
