I thought as much. I got 10.2 1 on the 9600/G3 now and love it as a spare computer. Just got the s900 233mhz running with a few SCSI drive and trying to get it past 10.1.
Maybe this is not the thread to ask, but do we all remember the correct sequence to go from 10.1 - 10.1.5 ? I have had one helluva time trying to figure it out on a few computers (all 604e's) in the past. I try the jumping thru hoops apple recommends, but all the installers have greyed out disks right before the actual install. I remember doing this on my iBook rev A. but alas, forget the exact ritual..... stuck at 10.1.0 for now but would really like to get to 10.1.2 so i can run CCC to allow me to clone off a backup of my small ibook server running mySQL and PHP, etc. at least to get me to the latest OS.... Nice list. quick answers. thanks, erik On Saturday, October 26, 2002, at 03:30 PM, (Unsupported OS X) wrote: > Date: Fri, 25 Oct 2002 19:52:01 -0400 > Subject: Re: Install Jag on Gchip, run Jag on 604e > From: CyberdogIbook <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > nope. the chip still needs to be supported for the OS to run. you could > install it, but then when you rebooted with the 604e, it would fail. > > > On Friday, October 25, 2002, at 07:23 PM, Erik Gilchrist wrote: > >> I posted this in the XPostFacto forum a little while ago, but asking >> here may not be such a bad idea. >> >> I have a 9600 that now has a PowerLogix G3 400 processor in it now and >> I got 10.2 on it (XPF is great!). >> >> I also have a Umax S900 (9600 clone) that has a 604e 233 processor in >> it.
