Bailey, Thanks I will Check that tonight when i get home. I thought I did this dance last month on my iBook but that was a g3 and this is a 604e. Perhaps the installers look for the processor... On all the installers (and all their prerequisites) the insatller lets me get to the disk selection and all the disks are greyed out. And all the disks including the boot drive have plenty of room for updates. bummer. back to apple later tonite.
