I have a 7600 with a G3 450 daughter card. - I am currently listening to Ryan Rempel talk about XpostFacto. Pretty cool. - I was wondering a few things about running Jaguar on my hardware.
I have 256 meg of ram. I know that Jaguar is better with memory management but should I keep more like 512 Meg. Ryan was saying that 10.2 runs better on Macs with a Gig, even the newer machines. That is not a quote but is what he said in my own words. Would that make the operating system snappier where it has more room to grow? I have a PCI ATA 100 card and drive so I am moving the fastest I can for hard drive speed so that is why I was wondering about the memory. Now I have an unsupported ATI Xclaim 3D pro. I know about the PCI Extreme hack and I have already applied it to see if I was going to have a problem though I do not have a supported card. Has anyone gone from X with a non supported video card to a supported video card. Is it worth the exchange? Is the window opens and closes faster more liquid or is that not enhanced with a new video card?
