Do you mean, or did you try, the Rage Pro LT hack? I mentioned it here earlier. It helps accelerate cards like the XClaim 3D, even in unsupported machines. > > Has anyone gone from X with a non supported video card to a supported video >> card. Is it worth the exchange? My Radeon 7000 is definitely smoother for 2D Finder windows than the built-in video of my 8500 in 10.2, but I don't think it's that much faster for the Finder than the built-in Rage Pro in my Beige G3 running 10.2. I would suggest spending money on maxing out RAM before a new GPU. -- _______________________ Phil Lefebvre Chicago, IL -- Unsupported OS X is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Unsupported OS X list info <http://lowendmac.com/lists/unsupported.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:UnsupportedOSX-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lemlists.com> Archive <http://www.mail-archive.com/unsupportedosx%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
