hello

Impressing :)
Installation of 10.1 went as smooth as possible..
No flaws at all until now. ( T+18h :)

Ironically putting a MacOS 9.1 was the worst and most disturbing in
the process,
Apple did seem to have put all and everything up
against my Installation tries,
( from picking about the origin of my really originally Apple IBM >:)
up to defective 9.1 Installers *rrr* )
well I overcame,
installed 9.0 on Partition 3 of a 3 Partition internal 4GB IBM DCAS
(Part1 is MOX, Part2 is going to serve Classic)
then had to update this to 9.1

before XPostfacto2.2.4 accepted
( it missed several inits under 9.0, eg some weird unspeakable
Carbonlib " Partikels")

The Hardware:
9600
350 604ev
320 MB
Floppy, 1 CDROM, SCSI ZIP, 1 4GB IBM

PCI
Slot 1: some nameless 2 Port USB Card, seems to work, but I didnt test it yet
Slot 2: an AsanteFast 10/100 (DEC 21140), works although not yet in 100
Slot 3: an IMS TT (2MB ?) works..*amazing after my XFree Horrortrips
with that card on the other Xs*
Slot 4: Radeon 7000 ME, not connected yet

the soundlevel is very low and not adjustable ( not in system not in iTunes)

The performance at all seems to be really acceptable :)
compared both to MacOS9 and Linuxes

And now for the securing and updating to 10.1.5..
Should I bring the Radeon first to work, or should I do the update first ?
What about safety and Internet,
firewalling and possible security
violations ?
Will it be safe to stay with 10.1.5?
(to which I am tied to with my machines 604 heart )

greetings Jochen
