Sorry, Tim, but Dean is right. Besides, it ISN'T "just semantics and your[Dean's] opinion." It shows a serious problem that is encountered online all the time: imprecise use of language. Saying that an item is in an auction (which MEANS, not implies) indicates that one must bid competitively on the item. Granted, the items have a "Buy It Now" option (Goodness knows, I exercise THAT option a lot!) gives the curious a little more latitiude. Yes, having it in an auction means it's for sale, but it also means that it is for sale TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER. "Buy It Now" means if you don't want to wait and you KNOW you want it that you can buy it, RIGHT NOW!
Being precise with subjetc lines in email really does help eliminate a lot of confusion and, in some cases as witnessed here on this list, avoid some flame wars (this is, after all a list for Unsupported OS X, not eBay auctions, or religion, or even the imprecise vs. precise use of language). So, hoping you understand that this is not sent as a criticism, but rather a call for clarity. Sort of wish I was in the market for a 9 GB drive, but what I really need is a solution to my 18 GB IBM UltraSCSI drives/ SIIG PCI ard dilemma for which no one here on the list seemed to have any answers...8-)...gave up for now trying to get them to work...suspect that they are LVD devices that will NOT play nice with my 8500...am going to try IBM support next.
