Phil, There does seem to be a lot of interest in trying this trick!
CompUSA is selling the correct card to use for $49.00 which maybe their
regular price. ATI is offering a $10.00 rebate which brings the price
to $39.00. I should also mention the PC Radeon ATI 7000 32mb DDR PCI
card is a single VGA port card. This is the only difference between it
once flashed and the Mac Radeon 7000 which has 2 video ports and TV
OUT. Well it's also $39.00 and the Mac card is $129.00
It is also possible to mail order an ATI Sapphire card which is the
same as the Mac card once flashed.
I'm going to be lazy an sent you a copy of what I've already written
for someone else. That and the web address of the German site with the
files to download are all you should need. However flashing a video
card is not something just anyone can do. I've got one guy emailing me
with questions 4 times yesterday. After re-reading his posts and noting
he is asking the same questions over an over without seeming to try
anything I'm thinking this guy couldn't do an easy Mac OS install let
alone something this advanced.
German website:
http://www.falkemedia.com/cgi-bin/forum/
forum.cgi?board=hardware;action=display;num=1045243482

note this is a german forum and while some info is being provided in
English I feel it is becoming a bit of an ugly american expecting
english answers on a german forum thing.
maybe this is just me...Only one german has protested so many English
postings. I flashed my card last Thursday and it has been running
straight since then with no issues nor problems. Best of luck Will S
