Even though you installed the Sonnet OS X Tune-up thing, I suggest trying out Power Logix Cache Control X also. I imagine it would tell you if the Sonnet app properly enabled your L2 cache, and give you the chance to enable it if not. The L2 cache makes a *huge* difference.
