i actually didnt read the whole thing, but focused on my setup 8600/9600 case... maybe there is hope for Sonnet?! (only in my dreams i guess!) I love my old 8600 so much, i just cant part with her for a new fangled rev 1 of a G5 machine! I enjoy the idea of using a solid computer for over 6 yrs! Lets see $3000 up front + $500 G4&R7000 vid card + $500 misc turns out to be $666 dollars per year.. which is likely to go in reality to 8-12 years... Apple products are bargains!
