I am thinking about buying a Apple LaserWriter 4/600 PS from someone on the Swap List. However, I have a problem... I don't know if it will work.

Here's the specifics:

I have a 7300/200, running OS X 10.1.5 and 9.1 via XPF. According to Apple, OS X comes with drivers for this printer (and I checked, they're in there). OK, fine. However, OWC's website for XPostFacto says that "Serial ports work, except for serial printers". I don't know if this info is out of date, like so much info on the Internet.

Does anyone have any experience with getting a serial printer to work under OS X with XPF, and especially this (or any Apple) printer??

I don't want to string this guy along, and I don't want him to wait too long. Thanks for any help.

NOTE: on digest mode, so replies to the list may take some time.
