Tim,

Unrelated , but firstly check your system date/time as I think it might be wrong as Eudora thinks you sent your email on 31 December 1969!! at 7:40pm.

Secondly, if you have Jaguar on a second HD and OS9 on another try unplugging the OSX HD from system and reboot - if it won't there are a couple of this that could be at play here. Your HD with 9 has lost it's boot block info - run nortons, disk warrior or Apple Disk first aid.

The system folder may not be blessed. Try dragging folder from root level to desktop and then back to root level. There are other ways which escape me at present....

Reset mother board via (usually) red cuda switch near processor - this sets MB back to 'virgin' state which may also free up Zapping PRAM.

Try zapping PRAM with third party tool such as TechTool (Pro or Lite will do it)

Also try removing all PCI cards and any other HD or optical drive you may have attached to the mac. This includes any external devices plugged in too. As well as network and modems, etc

Hopefully there is something here that may help. If this gets you out of strife try adding components one at a time (or couple at a time) and you may find one of your other devices is causing problems.

Regards

Simon

For some reason since I have upgraded into 10.2.6, I can not boot into
OS 9.2.2 or even a CD (tried 9.2.1 and a Jag CD). I have tried many
many different ways for the last couple months and nothing has worked
yet....

HELP???

Your pram and or nvram is screwed.
Try booting with apple + option + p+r, listen for a few chimes.
If that won't let the mac see a valid OS 9 boot disk then unplug your mac from the wall,
pull out your battery (and leave it out for an hour) and press your cuda (lttle red switch
on motherboard)switch.

You'll probably lose your ability to boot Jag after this. Reinstall. Apparently Xpostfacto
works best with 9.1. Lot's of people have both running .

Charles... thanks for the suggestions

BUT

I've done the battery pull/unplug overnight thing a couple times. No change. Remembers and boots into Jag.

Tried zapping the PRam a hundred times. Won't. For some reason it just freakin' won't. Ignores it and goes on.

Held the option key. Tries to boot from 9 for about 3-4 full minutes. Then reboots into X. I keep holding option when it reboots, and it just does it again.

I think my computer is possessed by Jaguar. Won't let go..... need an exorcist....

Any other suggestions.... please?
